| Description |
English: Originally planned for Bordeaux, the city didn't follow through, perhaps after hearing the price. Lyon ended up buying the Bartholdi Fountain now at Place des Terreaux after it made a sensation at the 1889 Universal Exposition in Paris. Most days it's not this cold, but most years it does freeze up once. |
