Pronunciation

UK: /ðeə/
US: /ðɜr/

NB: identical to the pronunciation of there and they're. This is terribly inefficient and makes learning difficult, but what can you do? That's the way the language is!

  • 3rd person plural. invariable. fr. leur(s)
  • 3rd person singular (gender neutral). e.g. The writer showed their point of view on the question from the opening paragraph. (recent / non-standard)
